W/C 1st February
Dear Parents and Carers,
Your child will be sent home with a learning pack linking to all our learning we are doing during school this week. Below is the home learning map which will be sent with the packs as well.
W/C 18th January 2021
Our focus story for the beginning of the week is "Rumble in the Jungle." Then, in the middle of the week we will look at our new story "The Animal Boogie"
Phonics Phase 2 videos
Watch the story 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson.
Can you pretend to the different animals that live in the jungle?
Watch Mr Tumble's Jungle Animals video- have a go signing some of the animals.
Work through the activities on the BBC bitesize website.
Monkey Puzzle Class
For the next two weeks I would like you to look at the theme - Autumn.
Can you make a sun catcher out of leaves?
Can you collect conkers and roll them in paint?
Can you go on a leaf hunt walk? Collect leaves as many leaves as you can.
What do they sound like when you stand on them? What do they feel like when you crunch them in your hands?
What colour are they?
Can you make a picture using your leaves? You could print them with paint or use the leaves to make a shape.
Use a cotton bud to dot over words.
Put pasta on top of a straw.
Learn to tie laces on a shoe.
Look out underneath for some more Autumn activities
Glue autumn leaves to create a spikey body then add a cheeky face to finish them off.
Cut out leaf shapes from dough and decorate with food colouring or whatever you want. I like the idea of mint choc chip leaf cookies. Delicious!
Leaf threading - a great fine motor activity
Sorting autumn leaves - this could be done by size or colour
Use some leaves to create a leaf man or leaf lady. Make the shape out of leaves and decorate. I like the idea that Leaf-man could be a new superhero!
